2021 Lexus RX 350
The Lexus RX 350 looks sporty and aggressive from the outside, but once you sit down in the cabin, you realize it is all about luxury and comfort. For the 2021 model year, Lexus added the Black Line Special Edition Package for F Sport models, added a new interior color for the RX, and made some of the previously optional safety systems standard. There's also a newly optional wireless charging pad.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The RX 350 is the base trim. It comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, self-dimming and power-folding side mirrors, a power liftgate, and automatic LED headlights. Adding the Luxury Package gets you 20-inch wheels, a moonroof, and rear sunshades, while bumping up to the RX 350 F Sport gets you the 20-inch wheels, and it adds adaptive suspension dampers and upgraded exterior trim elements. The RX 350 L has some changes in the cabin.
Engine (Power)
Power for the RX 350 comes from a 3.5-liter V-6 gas engine that puts out 295 horsepower and gets 263 pound-feet of torque in all models except the 350 L. Since it's heavier, output for this model reduces to 290 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard, and the RX 350 comes with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is an option for any trim level.
Performance
The capable V-6 engine quickly propels the RX 350 up to highway speed. Acceleration is smooth, and this SUV is more fuel-efficient than others in its class, with up to 27 mpg on the highway. This Lexus provides a quiet and comfortable ride due to its suspension that evens out bumpy road surfaces, and it has a responsive and accurate steering system.
Interior
The two rows in the RX 350 provide comfortable seating for five, while the three-row RX L bumps up seating capacity to seven. Standard features in the cabin include dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a reclining second-row. Add the Luxury Package for wood interior trim, driver's seat memory settings, and memory for the steering wheel. The F Sport adds front sport seats, aluminum pedals, and the F Sport steering wheel, and if you add the F Sport Handling Package, you'll get a heated steering wheel. Technology features in the RX 350 start with an 8-inch touch screen, and you also get voice recognition, satellite radio, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. A Wi-Fi hot spot, six USB ports, Bluetooth, and an HD radio all come standard, and a 12.3-inch touch screen is available with the Navigation Package. This optional package also adds navigation and the remote touch pad.
Safety Features
Every RX 350 comes standard with several driver-assist safety features such as forward-collision warning, forward automatic braking, pedestrian detection, and lane-departure warning. All models also have lane tracing assist, a blind-spot monitor, traffic sign recognition, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Additional standard safety equipment includes automatic high beams, a rearview camera, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
Lexus offers some extra safety features as individual options. These include front and rear parking sensors, a head-up display, and reverse automatic emergency braking.
